{"id":57,"date":"2006-04-01T00:16:02","date_gmt":"2006-04-01T05:16:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/weblog.globaladultmedia.com\/?p=57"},"modified":"2006-04-01T00:16:02","modified_gmt":"2006-04-01T05:16:02","slug":"fewer-mature-video-games-sold-to-minors-ftc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/globaladultmedia.com\/weblog\/?p=57","title":{"rendered":"Fewer &#8220;mature&#8221; video games sold to minors: FTC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a report published via yahoo \/ from Reuters the Federal Trade Commssion finds that sale of <em>volunteerily rated<\/em> mature video games to minors, is on a sharp decline&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p> (Reuters) &#8211; The U.S. Federal Trade Commission said on Thursday a nationwide undercover shopping survey last year found that fewer Mature-rated video games were being sold to unaccompanied children.<\/p>\n<p>The results come as many state and federal lawmakers &#8212; who claim that the industry&#8217;s self-rating system lacks adequate retail enforcement &#8212; are pushing for laws that would ban the sale of violent or sexually explicit video games to minors.<\/p>\n<p>The FTC said that 42 percent of its undercover shoppers &#8212; who were children between the ages of 13 and 16 &#8212; were able to buy an M-rated game last year.
