Google Blog: Setting trends

We read about a new google, is it a service, or a google hack.. not exactly sure which category it falls into, but one of the posters at the official google blog posted a script today that will show you your own trends (or those of the unknowing people surfing on your computer if logged in under your google account). We enjoyed this little toy, and think it is a good way to remind people two things. First if you walk away from your computer you could still be logged in under your google account, (or any other account for that matter, and some applications do not log you out even if you close the browser window, so do) and being logged in affects other people using your computer. Secondly, some of google’s services log and track all of your internet activities, and will now play them back for you or anyone else who could gain access to that information.

We thought other people might like to see this sort of thing too, so today we launched a Trends feature that gives you a look at a list of your top searches and clicks and other info about your search activity.

To use it, you have to turn on Personalized Search and be signed in
